Release candidate.
We just posted a release candidate for vimages 1.0 & we'll be getting documentation (including for the API) up just as soon as we can.
We're also already in the development stages of providing integration with slideshowpro!

Oh, btw, the HTML API will go up shortly, but it's there in the source if you need it.
It does not currently support video embedding, but it will when when go final.
